So, you think writing is easy. You think writers just sit down at our desk, put our fingers on the keys and words just magically appear on our computer screen.
WRONG! Because there’s this thing called writer’s block.
No! Not that kind of block.
What’s that you say? You don’t care? You can’t relate? Well, maybe this example will help: You have to poop. You sit on the toilet seat, and you think, “Okay, time to poop,” but nothing happens. You strain a little. Nothing happens.
“Come ooonnn, poop, let ‘er rip!” you grunt. Nothing happens but now the need feels urgent. You bear down and really concentrate on getting that sucker out of there. Still, nothing happens. Finally you give up. It just ain’t happening. You pull up your pants and head to the kitchen for a donut.
OMG! I just figured it out. I don’t have writer’s block, I’m just constipated. And there’s nothing funny about that.
